Time to Quit Being Lazy...or something :)

I can't believe it, Erin's 1st Birthday is Monday! We are doing her par-tay tomorrow and are so excited that grand ma's, grand pa's, and great-grand ma's will be in attendance! If there is a way (and I'm sure there is!) to post pics on here, I will do my best. Otherwise, facebook will save the day.

In other news, I am starting my internship this Tuesday, which is exciting. How great it will be do use the O.T. part of my brain again (more than I do as a Mom, which is a bit, actually!) and finish my degree. Erin will be spending her time with 2 awesome daycare ladies and her Auntie, so Mommy is not stressed about leaving her (as much, at least). Alex got a job welding here in Spokane and begins on October 5! Very exciting. AND, my house is clean...no fairy dust payment, only my elbow grease :)

Take care, all, hopefully it won't be 3 weeks before I post again!

1/2 pound down, but not how you want it to be....

Well, I survived a nasty bout of food poisoning--one day later and 1/2 pound lighter (I had to check, made it seems a bit more worth it--although I am not sure that I lost the weight from being sick or simply from the number of times I RAN to the bathroom...). Now I am *mostly* better and feel incredibly thankful for a normally functioning body.

Today in my mad dash (per usual) to get ready for church I grabbed a pair of green stretchy courderoy pants that usually reside in the bottom of my closet (btw, there is a REASON for this). Thinking, 'I have gained back some weight, surely these will fit' I put them on and headed out the door. In a mixed blessing, the pants still do not fit, but that was not fully comfirmed until I half-mooned the people in the pew behind me bending to pick up Erin. And, I feel that she now looks old enough that the "I just had a baby" excuse no longer applies...although I don't know how you fit into normal clothes for a while since for me fat has been re-distributed to my tummy in larger quantities, making normal clothes no longer normal. When I first heard the term "muffin top" I thought it was cute--not so much these days.

As a side, at Pig Out in the Park I did not have cheesecake on a stick (line was too, too long). I did, however, have cheesecake with strawberries drizzled with milk chocolate--SO GOOD!

May you all have a blessed day!!

Woman vs. Food??

I have decided to live my life vicariously through the guy on 'Man vs. Food' (on the Travel Channel if you have cable, or Netflix if you are a cheapie like me!). I think it will make it easier, because while he eats some amazing looking food in massive quantities, all of it (so far, only on Episode 2 of Season 1) has been really, really, REALLY unhealthy and makes me realize how good healthy food is. If the plan backfires I will let you know, however I doubt I will eat a 72 ounce (thats 4.5 pounds, y'all!) steak anytime soon.

Going to Pig Out in the Park tonight for dessert--somehow I don't think cheesecake on a stick fits into my healthier eating plans (why is everything always better on a stick?) but we might have to make an exception.

I have lost 2 lbs in 6 days.........WOOOOOHOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Alex and I celebrated our 4th Anniversary yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Prior to our watching "Transformers 2" at the Garland Theatre (a discount theatre here in Spokane, tickets are only $3.50) and enjoying some tasty vittles from Kim's Teriyaki (didn't think about the fact my Honey Garlic Chicken was FRIED and then soaked in honey-garlic sauce until after I ordered it), I went out on the town with my sister-in-law and Erin. Unfortunately, I did not pack a snack and ended up downing almost a whole box of Mike-n-Ike's Berry Mix (good sauce, I would say) and ended up with a nasty insulin hangover. This was mostly irritating because I knew better and did it anyway. On a bright note, we skipped out on the movie popcorn, etc. (almost gave into the ice cream) and both enjoyed the movie. For any who may be interested, "Transformers 2" was a cool movie that both dudes and chicks can like :)

Oh yes, and a recap would not be complete without mentioning the almost 1/2 tub of Zip's fries I ate...needless to say, no exercise and icky food choices does not make Segornae a happy girl! Will try to avoid that in the future.

45 minutes of semi-strenuous walking with the stroller today, including a crazy hill--WOOT!! A good breakfast down and now on to cleaning the house.

Thank You, God, for being You

I am once again amazed at God's ability to take my sorrows and replace them with comfort only because I ask. He has not taken the problems that caused those sorrows, but instead is leading me through them with Grace on He can provide. I am still a little frustrated and afraid, but I know He is here in my struggle with me, easing my heavy burden. How thankful, I am for you, O Lord--without you, I am nothing, but with you, I have everything.

Squirrel Attack and Other Perils

I walk to and from a park by our house when I manage to go for a walk (two days in a row, woot!). Yesterday, as I walked under some pretty trees, I heard rustling and noticed acorns falling around me. Today, the squirrel has gotten decidedly better aim, but I still managed to escape. Don't really know what has brought on this hostility....

Also, a nod to the Spokane Parks Department for making my walk more interesting by enabling me to dodge sprinklers today...how was THAT for a positive statement, lol! I must remember that even if I get hosed down and beaten by flying nuts that this is worth it.

30 minutes of good, fast walking and feelin' fine.

Erin is walking more and more-she is a little girl on a mission....must learn to freeze time to stop her from growing any more for a while. Like my friend Brandi said, is it really so much to ask?

Looking for a housekeeper that can be paid in fairy dust--only serious applicants need apply.

I Ripped This Off

To begin, I won't lie...especially since the title of the blog involves the word 'true' it seems to would be counter-intuitive to start on the lying foot. So, in the name of full disclosure, my friend Seldom started a blog today and I proceeded to follow suite. Unlike Sel, who probably decided to start her blog for reasons of good for all, my blog has the purpose of holding me accountable to other's in the world in regards to the changes I desire in my life. In other words, my blog is to force me to tow lines that I might otherwise shirk. As a brief preview, the topics to be discussed will include:

***My Faith Walk (and fall)***
***My Journey to find that Girl in Size 7 Jeans***
***Mommy Moments (Good, Bad, Indifferent)***
***Tips, Tricks, and Fun***
***Etc.***

So Sel, please forgive me for ripping off your Blog, I love you and solomely swear to read your enteries every day!!
